This movie is a project of the band 'Pessarium'.

A feministic noise metal band that combines music and performance-art into a hysterical show.

Wereld Record Spijkerpoepen op bubbling muziek

Intrubate Special!

Vrijdagavond 17 september is het zover! ‘S werelds eerste wereldrecordpoging spijkerpoepen, onder begeleiding van bubbling dj, DJ D Booty zal plaats vinden op Intrubate!

Wij roepen iedereen uit Tilburg en verre omstreken op om allemaal naar Intrubate te komen waar we een poging gaan wagen om het grootste spijkerpoep-spektakel ter wereld te organiseren. Wij zorgen voor de attributen jullie voor de spijkerpoep-bubbling-dans-moves.

Spijkerpoepen is een oud-Hollandse bezigheid die veel coördinatie- en concentratievermogen vereist. De materialen van het spel zijn: een stuk touw, een spijker en een fles. Van oudsher valt de keuze van de flessensoort op het bierflesje. De spijker wordt aan het touw vastgebonden, waarna het touw aan de broek van de speler wordt vastgemaakt. Het doel van het spel is de spijker in de fles te krijgen, zonder gebruik te maken van iets anders dan heup-, middel- en bovenbeenbewegingen.

Kom Intrubate Zaterdag naar het Zwijssenpand voor een potje heavy metal knikkeren, onder het genot van live muziek en onze speciale metal dj: DJ Grand-Canyon-Butt-Crack (deepest and darkest metal)!!!!

Voor 10euro koop je een zakje met 6 knikkers. Deze knikkers kun je bij de bar omruilen voor 6 biertjes. Door te knikkeren en te winnen krijg je meer knikkers en dus meer biertjes!!

Rol om de beurt een knikker in de richting van het potje. Dat doe je door je wijsvinger van achter je duim vandaan te laten schieten of andersom, of door met een kromme wijsvinger tegen de knikker aan te stoten. Wiens knikker het dichtst bij komt mag verder gaan. Als je een knikker in het potje rolt mag je nog een keer. Rol je de knikker er naast dan is de volgende aan de beurt. Wie de laatste knikker in het potje krijgt heeft gewonnen, die mag alle knikkers hebben die in het potje liggen.

An overview of five promising and emerging artists from Brabant. The featured artists have either not graduated yet or have graduated less than five years ago and are all based in Brabant. Instead of focusing on a selection of big international names, this project wants to show the broad development of a new generation of artists from Brabant. In terms of imagery they regularly break with academic laws and come to new autonomous insights. The presented artists are:

Intrubate Pirate Conference

Intrubate organiseert de ‘Intrubate Pirate Conference’ met o.a.: Arnoud Engelfriet .Met deze conferentie wil Intrubate ruimte voor discussie en verdieping creëeren rondom het hoofdthema: Piraterij. Diverse sprekers zullen hun licht laten schijnen op dit onderwerp.

Andere Pirate conferences leggen steeds minder de nadruk op het juridisch/economische aspect van piraterij en steeds meer de nadruk op het creatieve proces van de kunstenaar en de betekenis van het (her)gebruiken van elementen uit de bestaande cultuur tot een nieuw creatief element van onze huidige cultuur. Intrubate wil breken met die trend. Daarom organiseren wij onze eigen Pirate Conference waarbij de focus terug verschuiven naar de Juridische/ economische kant van de zaak. Daarbij zijn onder andere de volgende onderwerpen belangrijk: de ‘remix’ cultuur die vooral op internet welig tiert evenals de piraterij, de communities die via diverse social media en andere kanalen al hun, en vooral andermans, files sharen, welke impact hebben al deze fenomenen op de economie en wat is daar de betekenis van voor het recht?

Op de Pirate Conference van Intrubate zullen twee sprekers hun licht laten schijnen op de onderwerpen die volgens hen centraal staan of zouden moeten staan in het kader van het Thema: ‘Piraterij’.

De eerste spreker is Lars Leeuw met een filosofische inleiding over (internet)piraterij. Welke fundamentele vragen zijn er aan de orde wanneer het gaat over piraterij? Welke verhouding tussen mensen onderling spelen een rol en welke verhoudingen tussen economie en samenleving ? Hoe relevant is in dit geval een onderscheid tussen virtuele werkelijkheid en niet-virtuele werkelijkheid en wat betekenen die begrippen? Wat zeggen de huidige ontwikkelingen over de aard van menselijke interacties, bijvoorbeeld met betrekking tot begrippen als ‘altruïsme’ of ‘egoïsme’ ?

De tweede spreker is ‘Jurist met een mening’ Arnoud Engelfriet. Arnoud Engelfriet is ICT jurist, gespecialiseerd in internetrecht en werkt als partner bij Juridisch adviesbureau ICTRecht. Hij schreef het boek ‘De wet op internet’, een overzichtelijk inzicht in alle relevante juridische begrippen waar we mee te maken hebben met betrekking tot het internet: http://www.iusmentis.com/boek

Verder is hij uiteraard zelf zeer actief op internet, van zijn site:

Als spreker deelt hij graag zijn deskundigheid op het gebied van het internetrecht en is hij niet bang een eigen standpunt in te nemen. Intrubate is een onafhankelijke pion in het grote plan van Incubate. Als onafhankelijke pion doen we dus net zozeer precies wat we zelf willen, wat we zelf denken dat goed is. We zijn als een marionet met een schaar die op eigen poten wil staan. We zijn de piratenversie van Incubate maar als piraten onder elkaar houden we ons aan een code: we zijn geen criminele opportunisten die zoveel mogelijk winst voor zichzelf willen houden, we zijn liefhebbers van vrijheid en creativiteit en we zijn niet te beroerd om te delen als we zelf genoeg hebben. Sterker nog, vrijheid en creativiteit delen zich niet als smart in halven maar als enkelvoudige cellen tot complexe structuren en evolueren zo tot iets nieuws. Wij willen hetzelfde als Incubate: een vruchtbare voedingsbodem zijn voor kunst en cultuur. Naar onze mening kan cultuur alleen groeien en bloeien als ze de ruimte krijgt maar ook altijd dankbaar is geworteld in de producten van haar voorgaande generaties van soortgenoten.

Om te groeien en tot bloei te komen is een gunstig klimaat en soms wat hulp van buitenaf nodig. Als het niet genoeg regent is er iemand met een gieter nodig. Wat we daarmee vooral bedoelen is dat we wel wat extra’s zouden kunnen gebruiken! En met extra’s bedoelen we eigenlijk vooral extra geld. Bart van der Lee op Intrubate!

Bart van der Lee is a singer-songwriter from Utrecht (NL). Because of the development work of his father he grew up in the Phillipines, Thailand and Kenya. It was in Kenya where is his interest in music came to lift by playing on his mothers guitar. On his thirteenth Bart returned back to the Netherlands together with his parents.

During his studie illustration at the art academy in Utrecht he doesn’t only publish his debut album “Asfalt” (Asphalt), but also the collection of poetry “Aan de Vogels die ik zie” (To the Birds that I see). After graduating an EP and a single follow; two preludes for the album “Between Tall Pine Trees (Sadness & Thunder)” which is reased in 2010.

With his unpolished sound and melancholic tragedy he drags you into the depths and shares from his life’s experiences. The style and the colour of his latest album “Between Tall Pine Trees (Sadness & Thunder)” appear to be built out of components from his musical examples: the deep voice of Tom Waits, the pure arrangements of Johnny Cash’ American Recordings, the preference for the dark side of existence of Nick Cave and the ample beard of Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy.

Mijn werk bestaat uit alledaagse, herkenbare beelden die geladen zijn met een onbeschrijfbaar desolate en soms dreigende atmosfeer. Ik ben geïnteresseerd in zaken die zich afspelen achter gesloten deuren op zowel feitelijk als psychologisch niveau. Ook probeer ik absurditeit en raadselachtigheid vast te leggen in beelden die dat op zichzelf niet zijn.” In de titel van de tentoonstelling voegt Matijs twee begrippen samen die de aanzet zijn geweest tot het werk en de bezoekers uitdagen om zelf op onderzoek te gaan .

Pessarium op LowLands.

Pessarium trad afgelopen zondag op in een overvolle Ogononogo tent op LowLands!
Love it or hate it. Ontzettend slechte humor of juist zo slecht dat het leuk is. Titels als HoereKloteKut en Bloed Uit Je Piemel vallen nog mee in vergelijking met de performance. Pessariüm maakt er een zooitje van. De intimiderende smerigheid maakt nog net geen rel los, maar dat scheelt niet veel.

OKCers gaan los op LowLands!

De OKC madammekes Liselotte en Nina gooiden hun haren los en zetten de bloemetjes buiten op LowLands. Alle tenten zijn behoorlijk onder gestickerd door het OKC team in de hoop dat de nieuwschierigheid van de LL bezoekers opgewekt werd. Alle 55.628 bezoekers zijn ook welkom op Intrubate!!!!! :)

Intrubate zoekt harde werkers!!

We zoeken nog vrijwilligers om ons op 17, 18 en 19 september tijdens Intrubate Festival te komen versterken .
We zoeken op dit moment nog vrijwilligers voor de volgende functies: opbouw Intrubate, stagehands bij podia/performance, runners, infobalie en afbouw Intrubate.

Vrijwilligers kunnen natuurlijk rekenen op een goede ervaring, gratis entree op de festivaldagen, een heel vet vrijwilligersshirt, en wat te drinken tijdens het werken (en eventueel eten bij lange diensten).

Lijkt het je leuk om mee te werken aan dit bijzondere festival dat in Tilburg plaatsvindt? Meld je aan via frank@intrubate.org. Je wordt dan onderdeel van een jonge en enthousiaste festivalorganisatie, die met ontzettend veel lef en op ongebruikelijke manier het festival organiseert.

Duflan Duflan on Intrubate

¡ Duflan Duflan ! is a project born in February 2008. It features 3 weird musicians also involved in bands such as Innerdeathexperience , Raxinasky , Josie Duflan et les ponettes sauvages .

As a mean entity ¡ Duflan Duflan ! uses analog synthesizers, a bass a drum to propagate virtuous properties of satanic disco-doom and accelerated new wave. On stage, ¡ Duflan Duflan ! celebrates evil and unknown divinities in front of flashy video projections. The band is sometimes accompanied by a saxophonist (Nono - ex garçons) and a trumpetist (Tzii - from Solar Skeletons)

Since May 2008 (their first gig) Duflan has played about 70 gigs in France, Benelux, Italy & Germany. As Duflan music is frantic and powerful, the band has had the occasion to share the stage with Noise/rock/band (The Oxbow, Action Beat, Don Vito, Cercueil…) or Electro-punk/New wave band (Agent side Grinder, Aux raus, Le Prince Harry, Melodik Pinpon…).

On Saturday the 18th of september Intrubate will be rocking to a different beat, or rather we will be banging our heads and try to wave both of our long hairs around in circles like metalheads do.

First up is IZAH :


Izah takes elements of metal, hardcore, noise and post-rock and blends these into a dark and melancholic mix of heavy riffing, dynamic sound layering and chaotic drumbattering. With a sound somewhere in between that of bands like Cult of Luna, Converge, Kruger, Mono and Shora, Izah is ready to storm the planet’s barriers.

Armed with black hearts, broken livers and a bad case of musicofilia, the band started working on their sound, which was to encompass a broad range of musical styles and atmospheres, capturing what making music is truly about to the band: spilling their guts through creative ideas. A set was written and in late 2008 the band released their self-produced two song EP, Finite Horizon/Crevice, which they made available for free on their website.

Check out their website and/or their myspace but make sure you listen to their music, it’s quite beautifull, and it rocks and it takes you along for a ride to show you that ‘broad range of musical styles and atmospheres’ . Izah is one of those bands that write over 11 minute songs without boring 5 minute intros and even more boring 5 minute outros and just a minute of fun in between, they make all of those 11 minutes interesting.

Real Local heroes from Eindhoven and they’re an ass-kicking band with guitars, bass, drums and vocals and great songs. Their facebook and myspace page tells us little more than this:

Some info on You Echo, one of the artists performing on Friday !7th of september at Intrubate.
Another local hero from Tilburg, an artist we’re really glad to have on our little festival. And why are we so happy to have him? Well, simply because what he does is goood. You echo is one of those artists that doesn’t only know how to work the machines and push the buttons, he knows how to make interesting music with it. Intrubate 2010

We are an international festival on independent culture in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Besides sitting behind our desks, and organizing our things roaming the seven seas, we love to try to support independent culture.

Incubate Intrubate is the annual celebration of independent culture. Expect a diverse view on indie culture as a whole, including music, contemporary dance, film and visual arts. We bring more than 200 20 cutting edge artists in an intimate context to an international audience. Black metal next to free jazz. Refreshing art next to inspiring debate.

Through our social media channels we try to be in constant dialogue with our visitors, artists, the press and other people interested in our festival victims. We try to engage them by asking trick our followers for into giving us their money and jewelry and advice on bookings, on festival locations or on funding and marketing related matters.

Intrubate is organized by a young and enthusiastic collective of a few dutch artists who present themselves strongly on many stages. Combinations of performance art, music and photography among others, they bring an eclectic set of gender roles, stereotypes, campy events, high-,low-, unibrow art, and an obsession for bodily functions.

The combination of creative and independent minds with an open invitation to visitors who are asked forced to contribute their ideas money promises to make Intrubate one of the best festivals of 2010
